Inter RAO - Export delivered 13 gas turbine plants to Venezuela
INTER RAO - Export LLC has fulfilled the contract for the supply of 13 gas turbine plants (GTPs) with a total capacity of 423.8 MW for the Venezuelan state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela S.A, PDVSA. The last three GTPs were handed over to the customer in early November of this year and have been shipped to the port facility of Maracaibo (Zulia state, Venezuela).
“Despite the complicated political and business environment in the country, our South American partners performed all financial obligations, which allowed us to successfully fulfill this macrocontract. We are looking forward to further continued mutually advantageous cooperation. Currently, negotiations are underway on the possibility of our company's participation in the construction and commissioning of power plants on the basis of a part of the gas turbines supplied, as well as on the use of installations for supplying electricity to Venezuela’s refineries,” said Maxim Sergeev, Director General of INTER RAO - Export LLC.
It is to be recalled that the contract for the supply of 13 GTPs of the LM2500+G4 brand (co-produced by GE Aero (USA) and Electrotyazhmash-Privod LLC (Russia)) with a unit capacity of 32.6 MW was concluded between Inter RAO PJSC and Bariven S.A. (100% subsidiary of PDVSA) at the end of November 2010 in Caracas. The total amount of the contract was $ 309.2 million.
